MDA & 'Deliver the Cure'
Support the fight against muscular dystrophy
Half a century of help...millions to fight muscular dystrophy America's letter carriers have helped lead the search for a cure for neuromuscular diseases for half a century. Branches can now register to take part in the year-long campaign to raise funds for NALC's official charity. Branches that fill out a registration form will receive a packet of materials designed to help branches redouble their efforts.
The National Association of Letter Carriers is the representing union of professional members of the United States Postal Service who deliver mail to homes and businesses across the United States. In 1952, NALC became MDA’s first national sponsor and declared it the NALC’s official charity. The Union’s first campaign to raise funds for MDA was its “Porch Light Brigade,” an all-volunteer door-to-door effort by letter carriers Thanksgiving week, 1953. Since that time, the NALC has remained faithful to its commitment to help save and improve the lives of people fighting muscle disease, raising countless millions which have, and continue to, advance MDA’s mission
